Pro Staff - Sheldon Hatch

Pro Staff BIO: Sheldon Hatch, Ontario

Sheldon has been fishing walleye since childhood, winning his first fishing tournament when he was only fourteen years of age. And, as luck would have it, he developed his fishing skills growing up on the Bay of Quinte one of North America’s top walleye producers.

His home lake is now Mississippi Lake situated between Perth and Carleton Place, in Eastern Ontario, . This body of water had challenged his ability to catch walleye due to its shallow mean depth and lack of walleye holding structure. After his first year on the lake learning new shallow water techniques and weed line trolling, he won the 1st annual Bait Caster’s Pike & Walleye Tournament in May 2002.

When he is not on the water fishing he enjoys educating, writing, promoting and presenting seminars on walleye angling for one of Ontario’s most popular species. In a response to popular demand, Sheldon will be increasing his walleye guiding service in 2006 on his favorite waters - Bay of Quinte, Mississippi Lake, Ottawa River and Crotch Lake. The hands-on guide service will allow the weekend or tournament angler the opportunity to gain firsthand experience and knowledge about the numerous walleye techniques.
